Mr. R. Baskaran

Founder & Managing Director
PR Group of Companies

Mr. R. Baskaran is a first-generation businessman, visionary entrepreneur, and Founder & Managing Director of the PR Group of Companies, with over 35 years of experience in footwear machinery, leather goods, industrial automation, and engineering.

Starting with a small trading and service business in the early 1990s, he built the foundation of today's 35-year-old business group and is now a respected leader in the Indian footwear industry.

He founded PRE Machines (India) Pvt. Ltd., an indigenous manufacturer of footwear machinery, leather goods machinery, special purpose machines, and automation systems, and CMI Machines Pvt. Ltd., an import-export company supplying advanced machinery from Italy, Germany, China, Taiwan, Spain, and other countries while serving customers across India, Bangladesh, and Nepal.

Under his leadership, the Group has expanded into footwear design software, industrial and automotive automation, and R&D-driven engineering solutions through international collaborations.

Mr. Baskaran is recognized for his leadership, customer-centric approach, and contributions to India's footwear and leather machinery industry. He is the Past President of AFCAMMI and is actively associated with CLE, CIFI, IFCOMA, and other leading industry bodies, promoting the growth of the footwear, leather, components, machinery, and allied sectors.

He continues to lead the PR Group with a vision focused on innovation, indigenous manufacturing, advanced automation, global competitiveness, and sustainable industrial development.
